Tour Itinerary
DAY 01
YANGON
YANGON
(Rangoon)
Upon
arrival at
YANGON
airport by TG 303, you will be welcomed by your Asian Trails
guide and transferred to local restaurant for lunch to your own account.
Set out for an excursion to Hlawkar
Park
just outside
Yangon. In the afternoon, drive back to
Yangon
and check in at hotel. In the evening, set off again for dinner at
Moe’s home. This is Moe’s invitation for your friends to have a
glimpse of life of an ordinary family as well as to be introduced to
some typical
Myanmar
foods. (This dinner is not charged a cent as it is hosted by Moe’s
family privately) Overnight
stay at Traders Hotel (****, Deluxe room) or similar in
Yangon
.
DAY 02
YANGON
(B,
-, D)
After
breakfast, sightseeing begins with an afternoon tour through
Yangon
’s colonial-style city center. Visit SULE PAGODA, dating back over
2,000 years ago; the magnificent reclining Buddha at CHAUK HTAT GYI and
after a photo stop at the KARAWEIK HALL, a 'hamsa-bird-shaped' floating
barge on Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake; stroll through the BOGYOKE (SCOTTS)
MARKET with hundreds of food, clothes, handicrafts and gems stores.
Complete your day with an extended visit to one of the world’s most
spectacular monuments, the SHWEDAGON PAGODA.

Yangon
.
DAY 03
YANGON
- HEHO
(B, L, D)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for domestic
flight to HEHO. Upon arrival, drive to NYAUNG SHWE (25 km – 1
hour) and proceed by boat to hotel. Excursion by boat on
Inle
Lake
to see the famous leg rowers, typical floating gardens, local methods of
fishing, village life and magnificent scenery. You will visit the
PHAUNGDAW OO PAGODA, one of the main principle shrines in
Myanmar
and dating back to the 18th century; the weaving
village
of INPAWKHON. After lunch at local restaurant on the lake itself, depending on the
water level, board a boat to the Western Shore of Inle
Lake
, where you will find the beginning of a stair path leading to the
hidden and unknown INN THEIN PAGODA complex.
Dinner
and overnight stay at Serenity Inle Resort (**, Deluxe room, built on
stilts over
Inle
Lake) or similar.
DAY 04
INLE
LAKE
– TAUNGGYI - PINDAYA
(B, L, D)
After
early breakfast, visit one of the local markets in the Inle
Lake
region (on market days only). Transfer to TAUNGGYI (19 km – 1 hour)
and visit an orphanage run by three sisters who have devoted their whole
lives to caring very unfortunate children from war-torn or poverty-striken
areas and villages. After lunch at local restaurant, drive to PINDAYA
(100 km-3 hours) and visit PINDAYA
CAVES, a unique site housing thousands of Buddha images placed there by
pilgrims over the centuries.

and overnight stay at Conqueror Hotel (*’

room) or similar in Pindaya.
DAY 05
PINDAYA -
MANDALAY
(B,
L, D)
After
early breakfast, about 300 km drive (9 hours) will take you to MANDALAY, through varied agricultural
landscapes and villages. Lunch will be served at simple local restaurant
en route.
Dinner
and overnight stay at Sedona Hotel (****, Superior room) or similar in
Mandalay
.
DAY 06
AMARAPURA - MANDALAY (B, L, D)
After
breakfast, excursion to Amarapura, 15 km from
Mandalay. Visit MAHAGANDAYON, a famous Buddhist monastery, where more than a
thousand monks live and study; continue to 200-year-old U BEIN teak
bridge, built in 1782 at the time when Amarapura was Royal capital.
Continue to the MAHAMUNI PAGODA.
After
lunch at local restaurant, we could go for the meeting with members of
the International Medial Group and College professors. If time permits,
continue sightseeing in
Mandalay. Proceed to MANDALAY HILL for sunset.

DAY 07
MANDALAY
- BAGAN
(B, L, D)
After early breakfast, transfer to the jetty and board the
chartered boat for your journey on the
AYAYARWADDY
River
to BAGAN. The trip takes
approx. 8 hours downriver, depending on river conditions and water
level. Boxed lunch will be provided. Upon arrival in Bagan, transfer to
your hotel and time permitting start with sightseeing. Dinner and
overnight stay at Thazin Garden Hotel (***,
Superior
room) or similar in Bagan.
DAY 08
BAGAN (B, L, D)
After
breakfast, stroll through the colorful local market and continue the day
with visits to the most significant pagodas and temples of Bagan
including SHWEZIGON PAGODA, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th
century as a religious shrine; KU BYANUK GYI, a temple with superb
murals of Jataka scenes; KHAY MIN GA TEMPLE, noted for its panoramic
view of the area’s numerous monuments and ANANDA TEMPLE, with four
standing Buddha images. After lunch at riverside restaurant, visit one
of Myanmar’s most treasured handicrafts, a lacquerware craftsmen’s workshop in
nearby MYINKABA village. You
will continue to MANUHA
TEMPLE, built in the Mon style in 1059 and follow on to NANBAYA
TEMPLE, a unique sandstone monument said to have been the palace
of
King Manuha
. Proceed to BUPAYA PAGODA or MINGALA ZEDI STUPA to watch the sunset
over the famous
Ayeyarwaddy
River. Dinner and overnight stay at Thazin Garden Hotel (***,
Superior
room) or similar in Bagan.

breakfast, visit the site of TAYOKEPYAY
TEMPLE
in
Min

Thu
Village; PHAYA THONE ZU and
NANDAMANYA
TEMPLES
noted for exquisite murals of 13th century and
KYAT
KAN
CAVE
monastery, a famous meditation retreat in Bagan. After lunch at
riverside restaurant, explore the MYINGABA GU BYAUKGYI TEMPLE, a temple
noteworthy for its mural paintings under the protection of UNESCO and
visit the ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM to view the beautiful Buddha images of
bronze, stone and lacquer.
Dinner
at Nanda restaurant with puppet show and overnight stay at Thazin Garden
Hotel (***,
Superior
room) or similar in Bagan.
Optional:
Experience the magic of Bagan and a thousand years of history from the
enchanting platform of a hot air balloon, for the first time ever.
‘Balloons over Bagan’ offers visitors exclusive sunrise
champagne flights over the ancient pagodas of Bagan from late October to

the airport for international flight.
