Romanian Exchange
Romanian Inbound Home Hosts needed

As of Monday, we need three more home hosts for the Romanians. There are two couples (all speak English) and one man (speaks French) who need a place to stay. To sign up or for more information, Contact Paula Rose at paulaRose2000@hotmail.com. UPDATE: Enough hosts have been found.

Below is your signup form for the inbound event Ed Edgren has planned for the FF ambassadors from Sibiu & Brasov, Romania. I've also attached the form as a PDF document.

Please review the event list, fill it out, and then return the form BY WEDNESDAY, MARCH 28, 2007 with your check [payable to Friendship Force of Dallas] to Paula Rose [address listed in the form].

Day Hosts

Another way to participate in our inbound exchanges is to be a "Day Host." A Day Host volunteers to "host" an ambassador or two for the day - pick them up and take them to the event or meeting point, showing them around town, and/or getting them from the day's event back to their host home.

If you would like to help out as a Day Host, contact Jackie Bluhm and let her know what day(s) you are available. She'll contact you as needed - bluhm2@earthlink.net).

Small Group Dinners

Yet another way to participate is to host or attend a small group dinner in a member's home. These informal, pot-luck (no other cost to you) dinners will take place on Wednesday, April 4 at 6:30pm. We'll need seven members to host the ambassadors & their home hosts for a dinner. If you would like to host or attend a dinner to meet and greet our ambassadors one-on-one, contact Henny Houston - (hennyJack@earthlink.net) or Ruth Barrow - (rbarrow@wt.net) to let them know you're interested. If there's room, they'll assign you to a dinner host and let the dinner host know who's coming. The dinner host will contact you to let you know where you will be going and discuss what you will bring.

The Romania inbound is days away. Ed Edgren and his committee members are working to put together a great inbound exchange for these new FF members.

Yearbook updates

We've received a few reports of addresses, phone numbers, and/or email addresses being incorrect in the yearbook. If yours is incorrect, please send Brud Kisner (bkisner@sbcglobal.net) an email so that we can issue an update in the next few weeks.

Macy's "Shop for a Cause" Fundraiser

Thanks to all who have sold Macy's coupons. Now, it's time for the final push. Wendy Whaley will coordinate staffing our table at Macy's Valley View this Saturday, March 17 from 10am - 6pm. By having a table there, we'll be able a) to sell more Macy's shopping coupons and b) to inform people about Friendship Force Dallas. The Ridings and Pat Peters have volunteered to staff the table along with Wendy. However, we need more volunteers to staff the table for 2 or more hours on Saturday, March 17. If you will help, please contact Wendy Whaley. The last person staffing the table should return unsold passes to Karen Ford's office on the third floor and take our FFD banner home with them in order to return it to Edward Perez at your earliest convenience.

Also, if you have any unused shopping coupons and/or money from sales, please return them to Wendy as soon as possible before Saturday.

FFD Airport Shuttle Rides 

Just a reminder that you can also help FFD by using our ongoing airport shuttle service. The fee is $30 each way or $40 if you live in Plano or north of Plano. To schedule a shuttle ride, contact edward perez for details. The following members are ready and waiting to be your shuttle driver: Paula Rose, Lillian Fipps, Wendy Whaley, Mary Williams, The Ridings, Ray Enstam, Ana Marie Lee, Ed Edgren, M. C. Meador, Gary Paramore, and Mary Suther.

Member News

Update on Doris Langford

Bob Langford informed many of us that Doris is out of the hospital after her recent stay. Pam Varney-Terrell and Paula Rose informed me that Doris started her next round of chemotherapy on Monday and is back home - though tired and in need of support. Doris would love to receive cards as well as supportive visits from FFD members (CALL FIRST). If you can bring along a nice snack (like peppermints, lemon drops, fruit - double check with her) or lite meal for her and Bob, that would be great!

SW Conference
FF Austin Open Doors Mar 29-31, 2007

If you are interested in attending the FF Austin Open Door exchange Thurs - Sat March 29 - 31, 2007, please contact edward perez immediately  (erpbase-ffd@yahoo.com). Austin has two openings from each club in the region, so you need to act fact to enjoy Austin friendship and atmosphere. We don't have an event schedule, but I'm sure you'll have lots of fun in Austin!
