UPDATE:
Our exchange for January 12 to 19, 2003 to the city of Tuxtla-Gutierrez, in the State of
Chiapas, Mexico did not have enough people to go, so was cancelled. North
Shore Boston and New Hampshire Seacost are planning an exchange there in
March. We recently received the following letter from Canada. Please contact that club if you are interested.

for your interest in this exchange. We are very pleased to be able to
extend an invitation to you to join with us on the
Exchange to Chiapas Mexico.
Exchange
Information:
- The exchange dates are
Jan. 17 - 23/03 (begins Jan. 17; return either Jan 23 or Feb 3, if
you go on the extension).

Please make your own travel plans, plan
to arrive in Tuxtla Guiterrez either on the 16th or 17th. Hopefully
not too late on the 17th as they will no doubt have a welcome for us
on the 17th. Some of our group will arrive on the 16th and will
stay the first night in a hotel (Best Western Hotel Arecas). Please
send me your actual flight and arrival time so I can pass this
on to the ED to arrange for your hosts to meet you.
- Following the Exchange we
are planning a one week bus tour to see the archeological ruins an
other places of interest in Chiapis. The tour is planned to depart
from Tuxtla on Jan 24th and return to Tuxtla on Jan 30th. We are
still waiting a reply from our Mexican friends regarding the cost,
payment arrangements and the programme for this tour. If you
plan to take the tour with us, then you should plan your return
flight for Jan 31/03, unless of course you plan to stay longer to
travel on your own.

(Make cheque payable to The Mexico Exchange.)
Note that the FFI fee and the Host fee
will be charged to your Visa or MasterCard by FFI. It’s ok to send a
cheque to me for the local fee in US dollars and the banks here will
convert to Canadian.
- Enclose
a color photograph of yourselves. We will be preparing a souvenir
program which will include photographs, and contact information,
etc. If you have a scanner you can transmit the Photos by email.

Tuxtla-Gutierrez is one of the older and stronger clubs in Friendship
Force International and it presents a good exchange. We received a
special invitation to visit extended in person to Marilyn Wilson and Mac
Mackenzie at the International Conference last year.
The Tuxtla club receives visits in the winter months, which
provide the best weather in that area.
